How to get the best experience from this Website (Content Management System)

This website has been primarily placed online through funding by the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) to act as a continuous 24 hours a day and seven days a week point of access to the contents of the Final Report of Sierra Leone's Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

It is recommended that visitors browse through the entire report which has been sectioned into volumes which volumes have been sectioned even further into smaller pages that download into your browsers faster than if the entire volume were to load up.

Each and every volume also has a Printer-friendly page which will load the content of the entire volume upon a plain white background thus making it easier to be printed out neatly without the colourful header, side column and background pictures.

There is also a powerful inbuilt Search Function installed into this Content management System which makes it possible for visitors to search the entire voluminous report for single specific words. In such cases, a search using the provided Search Function will produce results that provide links to the volumes containing the specified words of the searcher and all what the visiting searcher will then have to do is to click on the provided link in the search results.

However, as stated earlier, these volumes are already broken down into shorter pages and the specific word(s) or phrase(s) might not appear on the first page but on subsequent pages of the volume in question.

We therefore recommend that when visitors to the website looking for specific words, arrive at the first page of the volume containing the specified word(s) or phrase(s), that they click on the printer-friendly version of that volume so that they will have the entire text of that volume made available on the one single page.

To then get the specific word(s) or phrase(s) they are searching for, they can then use their browser's menu option to find their specified word or phrase. This will be done by clicking on the EDIT option (next to the FILE option at the top left hand side of their browser) and from the drop-down menu, they should click upon the menu option that says,  'Find (on This Page)...'. This will then give them a box where they can type in their specified word(s) or phrase(s) and click the 'Find Next' button. It should be kept in mind that the searched word or phrase might appear more than one time in that volume and so it is recommended that visitors click the 'Find Next' button several times.
